East 40 was built in 1973 by Ed & Joan, who are responsible for the design and most of the collectibles you see here today. The antiques, pictures and fireplaces have been collected from travels throughout Europe and the United States. The bar is from an old saloon in Montana, the chandelier is from Spain and the stain glass windows are from the old Methodist church here in Bismarck. In 1979 Caspar and Matina Borggreve purchased the restaurant and Caspar's East 40 continued the fine dining tradition while becoming Bismarck's premier restaurant.
The Metro Music show is Bismarck Mandan's only television show dedicated to the local music scene - Featured on CATV
Metro Music show host, Derrick Mitchell is a native Texan who moved to Bismarck in 2004. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Derrick says he can't remember a time when music wasn't a part of his life. "From Van Halen to Elvis, Big Band to Southern Gospel, my family opened my eyes to a wide variety of styles and sounds."
Derrick is excited to be working with CATV Staff Producer Mike Frison on the Metro Music Show which showcases local original talent. "People might be surprised at how many great local songwriters there really are in Bismarck/Mandan, and we hope to spread the word through the show."

The VFW welcomes you! Click on the VFW logo to visit VFW's new web site. The music hall has perhaps the best acoustics in all of Bismarck and Mandan and the dance floor is large and inviting.
It is under new management and they REALLY want you to come out and enjoy the club. This is NOT the VFW of the past and it is NOT just for the old folks anymore!
The drinks are priced right (cheap) and the club is starting to put together good bands each and every weekend. Ok, the music may not always be rock but the club is working hard to get rock and alternative music in at least once a month.
So there are great times for all ages. All that is missing is YOU!
Contact the club to book your banquet or party event or to find out about booking your band. 222-1525
So click on the VFW Logo to get to the club's web site to see what is happening this month.
(Helpful hint: Click on "escape frames" in order to navigate independently within their web site.)
Thanks and hope to see you there!
